Dental Aid

Dental Aid

Location: Bangladesh
Dates: 28th July - 12th August 2018 (10 days, exact dates will vary)

Following the success of Elective Aid, Dental Aid seeks to emulate the provision of healthcare to treat underserved dental needs in Bangladesh.

It is a cost-effective and innovative programme for dentistry students seeking to travel to Bangladesh to provide dental care in Bangladesh's most underserved areas.

Providing oral care

overseas.

Dental Aid provides dental attention to some of the most remote areas in the world. The areas we work lack dental care infrastructure and good oral hygiene practices, creating a major need for oral health services, which is why we strive to collaborate with local oral health leaders in efforts to provide rural outreach clinics in Bangladesh.

Undertaking a dentistry elective in the developing world enables students to gain a new perspective and observe uncommon pathologies by providing supporting Selfless’ outreach dental care in remote parts of Bangladesh.

Volunteers will work with and under the supervision of in-country providers and gain an understanding of the challenges of dental care in Bangladesh.

Frequently asked questions

5pm on 1st March 2018.

What happens after I press Apply?

The team will consider your CV and applications can progress to interview stage before an offer is made.

Is there a fundraising target?

Yes, your support helps us continue our activities abroad. Each volunteer is expected to raise £850 to help with the trip. We have found that previous participants have found this manageable. We provide support with fundraising activities. Financial limitations are always considered and should not prevent prospective volunteers from applying.
